I Can't Sleep Podcast Episode 30: Galaxy

Episode 30: Galaxy

Years ago I was with friends in Zion’s National Park in Utah at night and we spent some time outside, looking at the majestic lights above us. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it with zero light polution, so we could see the thousands of stars and the milky way band on a beautiful, dark canvas.

What do you know of galaxies, how their formed and how long they live? Perhaps you won’t learn much as you listen to this new episode from the I Can’t Sleep Podcast. Happy dreams!

A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system of stars, stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter. The word galaxy is derived from the Greek galaxias (γαλαξίας), literally “milky”, a reference to the Milky Way.
